1969 - 1971
Sales manager at two food and beverage stands located inside the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park. These locations experienced a 40% sales increase over the year before (highest increases for all stands in the chain).
1972
Part-time sales associate at Cullum & Boren sporting goods. While there, set a company sales record by selling 63 ping pong tables in one month. Also sold retail clothing on a part-time basis for J. Riggings Inc., earning over $1200 monthly in commissions (highest monthly compensation of all part-time sales associates).
1973
Hired as a sales representative by Royal Typewriter Company. Sold 59 copiers in a ten-month period (ranked as #10 salesman for entire company of 400 reps).
1974
Hired by Howard Sales, the Dallas distributor of Dymo pricing guns. Led company in total unit and label sales (achieved 169.5% of quota the first quarter on board).
1975
Hired by Masonite Corporation. Youngest sales representative ever hired. Improved Ft. Worth territories hardboard siding sales by 311% during first year. Improved the same territory sales by 290% over that figure during second year (both percentages were the highest among the 300 US sales reps).
1976
Successfully completed Xerox PSS1 and PSS2 training schools (Professional Sales Schools).
1978 - 1982
Sold over $7,000,000 dollars of used Caterpillar road machinery for Sanders Equipment Company (owned by father, Rex A. Sanders).
1982
Began selling promotional products on a part-time basis. Six months later, started Don Sanders Advertising Specialties.
1985
Company reaches $180,000 in promotional products sales.
1990
Company reaches $300,000 in promotional products sales.
1994
Company reaches $465,000 in promotional products sales.
1995
Awarded PPAI Silver Pyramid Award for self-promotion programs. The self marketing campaign led to a 25% increase in sales from the previous year.
1996
Company reaches $675,000 in promotional products sales. This year sees the largest single sale in company history (more than $85,000 worth of embroidered jackets for the Arlington, TX General Motors plant).
1998
Company reaches $800,000 in promotional products sales!
2000
Awarded PPAI Golden Pyramid in Business to Business competition. Campaign designed by the Sanders garnered over 250 media placements for the authors of The American Drive-in Movie Theatre, including appearances on "Good Morning, America," NBC "Nightly News," National Public Radio, CNN, and interviews/reviews in Motor Trend, Playboy, USA Today, and The New York Times.
2002 - 2007
Don Sanders Marketing, a D-4 distributorship, continues in business, while also creating and maintaining this website.
